Tom Green to Lead Association in 2007

On February 15, in conjunction with the Iowa Limestone Producers Association annual Convention, out going President Pete Bush turned the association reins to Tom Green.

Tom is the president of Greene Limestone Company, Charles City, IA. Tom and wife Poulet have two sons. Tyler and wife CC and Cameron and wife Jamie.

A graduate of Greene High School, Tom received a B.A. degree from Loras College and a degree in Civil Engineering from Notre Dame. While at Notre Dame he was initiated into Chi Epsilon, the national honorary civil engineering fraternity. Following college Tom entered the U.S. Navel Officers School in Newport, Rhode Island and was commissioned an Ensign in February of 1967.

After graduation he did two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze star with Combat "V".

From 1970 - 1974 Tom was employed as a field engineer on mining and tunneling projects in Wyoming and New Mexico. In 1974 he returned to Iowa as vice-president of Greene Limestone Company, a company founded by his father in 1946. Greene Limestone Company merged with Allied Construction Company, Inc. in 1976 and Tom has been president and chairman of the board since July 2001.

Tom is a past president of the Iowa Concrete Paving Association.
